If the acre was square and had 4 equal sides, the length of each side would be 63.6149039 meters or 208.7103255 feet.

The area of an acre is 4,046.856 m² or 43,560 square feet.

But an acre doesn’t have to be a square, it can be any shape.

Traditionally an acre was measured with a Gunters chain, and it was 1 chain wide, by 10 chains long (a furlong). This is also 20.1168 meters wide by 201.168 long, or 66 feet wide by 660 feet long.

If an acre was in the shape of a circle it would have a radius of 35.890866 meters or a diameter of 71.781832 meters, and a circumference of 225.5089628 meters.

A acre takes up a little more than half of a soccer field.
