There are three ways to fade an XREF in your drawing:
- Type in XDWGFADECTL. Enter your desired fading level between -90 to 90. 50 is a good amount of fading for most drawings. 90 is really faded, 0 is not faded, and -90 makes it white.
- Right-click in the model space and select options. Select the Display tab, and in the bottom right is the Fade Control settings. Move the sliders for the XREF display to make the XREF more or less faded.
- In the Insert tab in the ribbon, show the additional options in the Reference section, fro here move the XREF fading sliding bar to make it more or less faded.
