10 Point Business Inspection

All businesses listed and submitted get assessed against the Surveyor Insider's 10-point business Inspection checklist.  This is how the Surveyor Insider chooses who is listed on our recommended surveyors pages.  Not all of the following items are applicable to each company, but many are.  

It is a good idea to compare your company against this list before submitting an application form to have your business listed.

1. Client Reviews

  • Does your company collect reviews from clients,
  • Have any reviews been collected recently, and
  • What is the collective client rating across all platforms that reviews are collected.

2. Review Feedback

  • Are the reviews genuine (we ignore any fake reviews),
  • If the company has received any negative reviews, what has the reviewer criticised and has the company addressed the complaint,
  • What was specifically praised in the client review,
  • Does the review specifically and accurately mention the service that was received from the surveying company.

3. Services Offered

  • What are the core services offered by the company,
  • Is the company able to satisfy the minimum requirements expected from such a company,
  • Is the company able to offer a range of related services to satisfy different client requests.

4. Social Media

  • Is the company active on social media,
  • Are social media platforms kept up to date with the companies latest information.

5. Website Standard

  • Does the companies website look professional,
  • Is the Website easily navigatable, 
  • Is there a blog, and is it updated regularly with information that helps prospective clients find them and informs and educates their clients,
  • Does the website have all of the latest contact and services information and links to social media.

6. Experience

  • Between the companies directors and employees, how much experience is at the company,
  • Does the company have specialist knowledge and licences gained from many years or experience.

7. Contact Information

  • Are there different ways that a client can contact the company (phone, email, contact form, messenger bot).

8. Business Hours

  • Are the business hours reasonable and convenient for clients.

9. Business Images

  • Are the business images genuine,
  • Does the company rely on stock or irrelevant photos.

10. Complete Information

  • Is all the information on the website complete and easy to find.
